O Week summary

This week you have examined the definition of numeracy, and how it is not the same as mathematics, but rather the practical application of mathematics. You will now have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the actions of a numerate person. Further, you have been given the opportunity to familiarise yourself the Birth to Level 10 Numeracy Guide.

Next week, you will develop a more comprehensive understanding of numeracy and explore the effective teaching of numeracy across different contexts through scrutinising the evidence-base materials. Additionally, you will review the Numeracy in the 21st Century model and the number of elements within the model related to numeracy knowledge and behaviours.
