Week 1 summary

This week you have developed a more comprehensive understanding of numeracy and explored the effective teaching of numeracy across different contexts through scrutinising the evidence-base materials. These contexts included indigenous and remote areas, as well as numeracy in the early years. You reviewed the Numeracy in the 21st Century Model and the elements within the model related to numeracy knowledge and behaviours.

Next week, you will synthesise how the four mathematical proficiencies can be incorporated into approaches to the teaching of numeracy.
